Southampton are 'looking into' luring Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos to St Mary's ahead of the transfer window slamming shut, according to journalist Dean Jones.
Saints got their first point on the board last weekend, as they bounced back from their opening day defeat to Tottenham Hotspur by sealing a draw against Leeds United, but boss Ralph Hasenhuttl could bolster his squad ahead of the September 1 deadline.

According to The Athletic, Southampton have held talks with Benfica over a £25million deal for Ramos.
The report suggests a meeting regarding the 18-cap Portugal under-21 international was held ahead of his current employers' Champions League third qualifying round second leg victory over Midtjylland last week.
If a deal were to be concluded, Ramos would surpass Danny Ings as Southampton's club-record acquisition.
But Saints, who have already spent more than £50million since the transfer window opened for business, appear to have a battle on their hands when it comes to attempting to get a deal over the line.
That is because Premier League rivals Newcastle United also hold an interest and Wolverhampton Wanderers are admirers.

Jones understands that Southampton are keen on Ramos and mulling over whether to stump up the cash to strike a deal.
However, the transfer insider has doubts over whether Hasenhuttl should push forward with the potential signing.
Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "It's a really interesting option and he is one they're looking into.
"I don't know if he's exactly what they need, to be honest. I'm surprised they're not looking at people that are more established in the league or even in Europe."

Ramos has already made an impressive start to the season, scoring five goals and racking up a further three assists in just five appearances.
He may be only 21, but the centre forward has found the back of the net on 19 occasions at senior level and also got his name on the scoresheet 14 times for the Portugal under-21 side, emphasising that he is potent in the final third of the pitch.
Only the Premier League's bottom three, Leeds United, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Brighton & Hove Albion scored less goals than Southampton last season, so it is clear that added firepower is necessary.
Although Hasenhuttl has already forked out £11million to sign Sekou Mara from Bordeaux, there is no doubt that Ramos would be an exciting addition to Saints' squad.
