Manchester United 'have just been notified' that a deal which would take Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy to Old Trafford could be on the cards, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The report suggests ten Hag is scouring the market for attacking options and although the 25-cap former England international has worked his way onto the Dutchman's radar, Leicester are reluctant to sanction his departure.
Vardy has entered the final 12 months of his £160,000-per-week contract at the King Power Stadium, which could boost Manchester United's chances of striking a deal as his current employers will not want to see him walk away as a free agent next summer.
But that may also play into the hands of other suitors as Chelsea are understood to be among a number of clubs monitoring the 35-year-old's situation.

Jones understands that Manchester United have been informed that Vardy could be available ahead of the transfer deadline due to his precarious contract situation.
The journalist believes the Red Devils will be mulling over whether to test Leicester's resolve after he has become a viable option.
Jones told GIVEMESPORT: "We've spoken about Vardy before in terms of him potentially becoming available in this window.
"Chelsea were the other club that's been considering him, but I think Man Utd have been notified of the fact that his situation at Leicester isn't ideal.
"With his contract not having that long left to go, it's an option they might have to explore."
