Lionel Messi & Kylian Mbappe: Argentine brilliantly assists Frenchman in PSG training

Lionel Messi assist to Kylian Mbappe in training

Lionel Messi has been caught in the crossfire at Paris Saint-Germain.

Last weekend, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar clashed over a penalty during their 5-2 victory over Montpellier.

After previously missing a spot-kick, Mbappe demanded he took another later in the match. In doing so, he barged past Messi to have words with Neymar who was placing the ball on the spot.

Reports have since emerged suggesting all is not well between the Frenchman and Brazilian.

Meanwhile, Messi has been going about his business quietly.

And that showed earlier this week in training.

The Argentine is looking to improve on his relatively disappointing debut campaign at PSG. And his performances already this campaign suggest he’s more than ready to do that.

He’s certainly training well if one viral clip is anything to go by.

Despite Mbappe’s misdemeanours this week, he linked up with Messi for a quite brilliant goal in training.

While Mbappe may have started and finished the move, it’s Messi’s pass that we want to focus on.

Mbappe found his teammate surrounded by three defenders – including Sergio Ramos. Mbappe went for the return that seemed impossible for Messi to find.

However, out of nowhere, he swivelled and produced an inch-perfect ball to Mbappe who finished past the goalkeeper.

How did Messi even see Mbappe’s run? And how did he pull off such a brilliant pass surrounded by defenders?

There’s only one explanation… he’s got eyes in the back of his head.

While Messi and Mbappe may have linked up in training, it seems the French striker is upset the six-time Ballon d’Or winner has sided with Neymar.

A report in GOAL claims: “He [Mbappe] is annoyed that Neymar has gained power among team-mates, including Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, and feels he has not received the status he was promised by club leadership.”

As long as they keep linking up like that for goals, Christophe Galtier won’t care too much.
