Jurgen Klopp has called out talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor for his comments about Manchester United following their 4-0 loss to Brentford.
The former Aston Villa striker called United a 'shambles' and suggested new manager Erik ten Hag should 'just pack up' following their heavy loss to Brentford.
Agbonlahor probably didn't expect the Liverpool manager to be listening - and certainly wouldn't have been expecting to be called out in a press conference by Klopp.
But that's exactly what happened on Friday morning ahead of Liverpool's trip to Old Trafford to face United.
Klopp also remembered when his Liverpool side beat Agbonlahor's Aston Villa 6-0 back in February 2016.
Klopp calls out Gabby Agbonlahor
"For United, you all played your part, and it was not a nice week for United after the Brentford game," Klopp said. "We forget in these moments how good Brentford is.
"It was that bad, I watched the first half and drove home, listened to talkSPORT and Gabbyâ¦[Agbonlahor] he lost against us 6-0 in my first year, I couldnât remember him as a mentality monster on the pitch.
"What he said about United on that show, I was close to calling in. I was close to calling in and telling him, you forgot completely what itâs like to be a player. It was unbelievable!
"When ex-players go like this then you can imagine how everything else is going."
What did Gabby Agbonlahor say about Man Utd?
While appearing on talkSPORT on Sunday, Agbonlahor didn't hold back about United's performance against Brentford.
"This is not Manchester United," he said.
"If I was them now after this game Iâd be thinking, 'You know what, Ten Hag, just pack up'. Heâs had pre-season and they have started the season as a shambles, theyâre like strangers on the pitch.
"Theyâre just not good enough. Amateur from Manchester United. Theyâre not United theyâre divided, none of them are working for each other. Look at them, theyâre like strangers on the pitch.
"Itâs a shambles kit, shambles club at the moment."
Days later, Agbonlahor doubled down on his comments about the club
"Iâve been hammering United and people are saying Iâve got an agenda against Manchester United â no, Iâm speaking facts that real Manchester United fans will agree with," Agbonlahor said.
"Youâre just not the same Manchester United that you used to be.
"These results have been coming. Last week you lost and it wasnât shocking, and this isnât a shock to me.
"I knew Brentford would win, this is not a shock to me."
