Chelsea will be able to ‘easily’ agree personal terms with Everton winger Anthony Gordon if they have an offer accepted ahead of the transfer window closing, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

Thomas Tuchel has overseen a solid start to the Premier League season at Stamford Bridge, with a win over the Toffees followed by a 2-2 draw with Tottenham, but he can still strengthen ahead of the September 1 deadline.

What is the latest news on Gordon?

Chelsea are ready to submit a £50 million bid for the 21-year-old after seeing a £45 million offer rejected, according to Football Insider, with Todd Boehly apparently giving the move the green light.

It is also understood that the Blues have offered Everton two players in the form of Billy Gilmour and Michy Batshuayi as a part exchange.

Meanwhile, the Telegraph have reported that Gordon wants to swap Goodison Park for west London this summer.

Newcastle have also registered their interest in signing Gordon and first made contact with the Merseyside club back in July and had a £35 million offer rejected.

Despite fierce interest from different directions, Everton continue to insist the winger is not for sale at any price.

What has O’Rourke said on the chase for Gordon?

O’Rourke has suggested that Chelsea would have no trouble at all convincing the player to join Tuchel’s set-up if a fee can be agreed.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "I think there would be no issues over personal terms at all. I think Chelsea would easily be able to agree a deal with Anthony Gordon. He's probably not among the biggest earners at Everton right now. So, I'm sure Chelsea will be able to agree a deal with him.”

Would Gordon be a good signing for Chelsea?

It is a bit of a strange move from Chelsea because, while Gordon is undoubtedly a talented young player, he does not exactly possess a skillset the Blues lack.

Tuchel is reportedly open to selling Christian Pulisic and Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer, two players who perform a similar role to Gordon. It seems unnecessary to move the duo on and then bring in a player for £50 million to perform a similar task, who is also a similar age.

That said, there is no doubt Gordon has a lot of potential. While Everton struggled last season, the winger had a breakthrough campaign, scoring four goals and providing two assists in the Premier League.
