Arsenal have seen 'a window of opportunity' and may look to complete a 'cut-price' deal which would see Villarreal star Yeremy Pino head to the Emirates Stadium, according to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs.

The Gunners have not been afraid to splash the cash on new recruits since the transfer window reopened, having spent close to £120million, but boss Mikel Arteta could strengthen his squad further ahead of the September 1 deadline.

What's the latest news involving Pino?

According to Goal, Arsenal are interested in signing Pino and they could strike a deal worth far less than the release clause written into his Villarreal contract.

The report suggests the La Liga side are open to accepting a deal worth around £38million despite the four-cap Spain international boasting a £67million buyout agreement.

Although Spanish sources have claimed that Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea are also keen on Pino, Arsenal may hold the upper-hand heading into the final stages of the summer window.

That is because journalist Pete O'Rourke has previously told GIVEMESPORT that the 19-year-old would be interested in completing a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Pino has been on Gunners chief Arteta's radar for a prolonged period of time.

What has Ben Jacobs said about Pino?

Jacobs understands that Arsenal and a host of other clubs are mulling over whether to test Villarreal's resolve and make a bid for Pino.

The journalist believes Villarreal's money problems could play into the Gunners' hands and make a bargain deal a distinct possibility.

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT: "Arsenal see a window of opportunity and lots of other clubs do as well.

"I think an assessment is currently taking place as to whether now is the right time to move.

"There's definitely that window of opportunism to get him at a cut-price fee due to Villarreal's financial situation."

Why is Pino on Arsenal's radar?

Pino may still be in the early stages of his career, but he has already chalked up close to 80 appearances, which shows that he has gained the trust of Villarreal's former Arsenal boss Unai Emery.

In that time, the winger has regularly been among the goals and created guilt-edged chances for his team-mates, so he is clearly a huge threat in the attacking third.

Despite question marks over his future, Pino has still been in the forefront of Emery's thinking this season, emphasising that he is a key part of his plans.

There is no doubt that the Europa League winner would be an exciting addition to Arteta's squad.
