John Lundstram enjoyed a stellar debut campaign at Rangers.The former Everton man joined the Glasgow-based club last summer from Sheffield United and quickly became a mainstay in Gio van Bronckhorst's team.Lundstram played 48 games for Rangers across all competitions in 2021/22 and scored four goals - one of them during a famous 4-2 victory away at Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Europa League.He really has proven to be a brilliant piece of business by the Scottish side, although the 28-year-old had a moment to forget in a blue jersey on Saturday afternoon.In the second half of Rangers' trip to Hibernian, Lundstram was shown a straight red card for one of the most cynical fouls you're ever likely to see in a professional setting.The midfielder brutally hacked down an opposing player to halt a Hibernian counterattack while Rangers were 2-1 ahead thanks to goals from James Tavernier and Tom Lawrence.There was a covering defender, but even that wasn't enough to spare Lundstram from the severe punishment of a red card.Check out the wild tackle from the Rangers man...

Yeah, that's a red card every single day of the week. The referee didn't hesitate one bit and it's very easy to understand why, a FIFA Pro Clubs tackle if ever there was one.

Rangers may choose to appeal the decision, but if they do and fail, Lundstram will be suspended for three games and subsequently be absent for the first Old Firm Derby of the season against Celtic on September 3rd.

Van Bronckhorst will also be missing another key player for that fixture - Alfredo Morelos.

Just nine minutes after Lundstram was dismissed from the field of play, the fiery Colombian striker controversially received his marching orders from the referee for catching an opponent with a flailing arm.

That looks incredibly harsh, doesn't it? If Rangers choose to appeal that call by the officials, they may end up winning case judging by the footage above.

Despite being down to nine men for the final 15 minutes of action at Easter Road, it looked as if Van Bronckhorst's men would still hold out for a priceless 2-1 victory.

But in stoppage-time, Josh Campbell bagged a dramatic equaliser for the home side to bring an end to Rangers' 100% win record in the Scottish Premiership this season.
