Last night's AEW Rampage confirmed a huge title match for this week's edition of the Friday night show as the ROH World Championship is on the line.

A segment of Rampage saw the Blackpool Combat Club's ROH World Champion take to the ring alongside ROH Pure Champion Wheeler Yuta.

Claudio took to the ring to discuss what's next in his ROH World Championship reign, and he would go on to issue an open challenge for anyone to step up and face him on next week's AEW Rampage.

Castagnoli's challenge would be answered by Dustin Rhodes. Rhodes would explain to Castagnoli that, like Claudio, before his ROH World Championship win, in his 30-year career, he's never held a world championship in a professional wrestling company.

Castagnoli and Rhodes expressed the respect that both men had for each other and as a result made the match official for Rampage.

Claudio, during his ROH World Championship reign, has defeated the likes of Jonathan Gresham, and Konosuke Takeshita, keeping a perfect record inside an AEW ring.

Therefore, for Rhodes to capture the ROH World Championship, he may have to do whatever it takes to be called a world champion.

On the other hand, Claudio will be looking to make a statement by defeating a veteran of the game, sending a message to everyone on the back of the standard they need to be at to challenge him.

What was promised for this match is that Claudio will be seeing the best version of 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes in this upcoming bout.
