West Ham 'actively trying' for triple swoop at London Stadium

West Ham United are actively making moves to try and sign three players this summer, according to Ryan Taylor of the Daily Express.

David Moyes has added six permanent additions to his squad so far this summer, as the Irons look ahead to balancing a domestic and potential Europa Conference League campaign.

What’s the latest on West Ham?

The Irons are currently working on deals for Spezia and Poland centre-back Jakub Kiwior, Fenerbahçe and Hungary centre-back Attila Szalai, and Club Brugge and Belgium midfielder Hans Vanaken.

Moyes is looking to add numbers to his squad due to the club’s potential participation in the Europa Conference League this season, with the club needing to add more depth across the squad if they want to be successful on both fronts this season.

The transfer of Vanaken seems to be the most important deal of the three with Moyes being reportedly “crazy” about bringing the midfielder to the London Stadium this summer, according to HBVL in Belgium.

And Taylor believes that whilst the club are actively looking at trying to sign the trio, the club have been struggling to progress deals down the line during this transfer window.

What has Taylor said about West Ham?

He told GIVEMESPORT: “Yeah definitely, I think Kiwior, Szalai, and Vanaken are ones that West Ham are actively trying to do at the moment.

“But the kind of situation with West Ham at the moment seems to be they’re not really making any progress on a number of deals.

“We saw the Emerson deal initially collapse, and the Club Brugge lad [Vanaken] seems to be sort of being held in Belgium at the moment, in terms of they don’t want him to go.”

Do West Ham need all three signings?

Whilst all three potential signings may not be household names to Premier League fans, the Irons absolutely need to add senior additions to their squad this summer, if they are to avoid a slump in the Premier League due to their European participation this season.

All three players are internationals for their countries and would likely be solid performers for the Irons this season, if not regular starters.

The Irons have already had an £8.5m bid for Vanaken rejected, whilst Spezia have also turned down a £10m bid from the Hammers for the services of Kiwior this summer.

Having already suffered an injury crisis during a European campaign last season, Moyes will be hoping that GSB can get all three deals over the line, so that West Ham have significant cover for their domestic and European adventures this summer.
