Arsenal targeting Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha could be something to watch out for, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

While Villarreal's Yeremy Pino and Wolves' Pedro Neto are thought to be the attackers who the north London club are seriously considering right now, Jones is not ruling out Zaha becoming an option.

What is the latest transfer news involving Arsenal?

When it comes to Arsenal improving their forward line, Pino and Neto seem to be the targets.

According to GOAL, the Gunners are interested in signing the young Spaniard, who could cost £38m, which is less than his £67m release clause. Elsewhere, a report from The Athletic claims that they want Neto.

Zaha, who the club tried to sign back in 2019, something former manager Unai Emery confirmed a couple of years ago, has not been mentioned.

However, the 29-year-old has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Selhurst Park so could be a very attainable target for Arsenal.

What has Jones said about Zaha and Arsenal?

Jones says Zaha is not a player who Arsenal are focusing on at this moment in time; however, the journalist thinks things could get more interesting as the transfer deadline draws closer.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: "He’s looking in hot form and if an offer doesn’t land in the next week from someone, then I’ll be surprised. He’s not the main man Arsenal are thinking about at this stage, as far as I know, Yeremy Pino is more appealing, but this one could become interesting."

Should Arsenal sign Zaha?

If they cannot bring Pino or Neto to the Emirates, then absolutely. In fact, the Ivorian is probably a safer option than the former.

He is obviously Premier League proven, scoring 14 goals in 33 appearances last season, and has started this campaign in excellent fashion.

Zaha, of course, was the man who registered for Palace in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool earlier this month before netting twice against Aston Villa over the weekend to make it three in three.

The Ivory Coast international is also a very good dribbler, completing two dribbles per game so far this term - only Jordan Ayew (three) and Eberechi Eze (4.7) have averaged more in Patrick Vieira's squad (via WhoScored).

According to Jones, given his contract situation, Palace are only looking for around £30m for their talisman, so Arsenal have the chance to do a terrific piece of business here.

In the words of former Palace owner Simon Jordan, Wilfried Zaha is an "incredible" footballer.
