Video footage has been released of the confrontation between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk after their hard-fought rematch.Joshua was unable to change the tide in his favour, and was outpointed by the Ukrainian who, with the weight of his country on his shoulders, put on another boxing masterclass. It was the same old story for Joshua. He was dominated in their first encounter and despite a gutsy, improved performance, he didn’t have the answers to get his hand raised after the final bell sounded. A noticeably emotional Joshua was unable to contain his frustration after the bout. Microphones managed to pick up every single word that AJ said to Usyk after the split decision was awarded to the Ukrainian. After shaking hands Usyk compliments Joshua, saying: “You are a very strong guy.”It was soon clear that this wasn’t what Joshua wanted to hear.

“I don’t care about strong I have to have skills. Being strong doesn’t win boxing, skills win boxing. You’re not strong, how did you beat me? How? Because of skill, I had character and determination.”

Usyk’s attempts to comfort AJ after his loss didn’t quite go to plan. Joshua proceeded to pick up Usyk’s belts and throw them to the floor, before walking out of the arena.

A rather emotional Joshua returned to the ring to give an expletive filled speech that was rather hard to watch.

Usyk was later asked about Joshua’s bizarre reaction to losing the bout, when he said:

“I feel nothing but respect to AJ. I saw him a bit emotional and like bullying some of my teammates.

“That would be a bare-knuckle fight that I don’t recommend him to do because most of them are horrible street fighters.”

Joshua apologised for his actions after the bout, saying that “his emotions got the better of him.”
