Tom Hardy is known for his roles on our screens in huge films and hit TV series, but for fans of Jiu-Jitsu in Wolverhampton were treated to an in person performance from the BAFTA winner, but not as you’d expect. He was taking part in a Jiu-Jitsu tournament this weekend, dominating the field to take home the gold medal to add the sporting achievement to his film accolades. It was the REORG Open Jiu-Jitsu Championship that took place at Aldersley Leisure Village, with onlookers treated to a clinic from the Legend actor. The 44-year-old is an ambassador for the REORG Charity. The organisation help teach individuals that suffer from PTSD and depression Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.These stories are always great to hear about, but often we can be left with just hearing about such encounters, thankfully, footage of Hardy in action has been captured and we get to see how he got on.We’re used to seeing Hardy on our screens in plenty of different capacities, but he does often play gangsters whether that be in Peaky Blinders or conveying the life of the famous Kray Twins whilst playing both Ronnie and Reggie simultaneously. So to see him win a martial arts tournament and dominating his opponents isn’t a scene we’re unaccustomed to, although Jiu-Jitsu is a little different to being a world renowned criminal.LONDON, ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 15: Charlotte Riley (L) and Tom Hardy (R) are seen ringside during BAMMA 31 at SSE Arena Wembley on September 15, 2017 in London, England. Whilst someone else stated: “Man’s out here doing side quests lol.”

Another comment read: “That’s actually Tom Hardy guys. He has been training since my gym opened (pounce fitness) he’s a normal guy, this is his escape, Jiu-Jitsu.”

Someone put: “For a major celeb he just seems like a proper decent guy, I reckon if he was your neighbour he’d put your bin out n stuff.”

Comment from another read: “Oh, you think darkness is your ally. But you merely adopted the dark; I was born in it.”

Despite being a major star, Tom Hardy needs an escape just like the rest of us, good luck if you take him on, it looks like you’ll need it!
