Nick Kyrgios took part in his first Grand Slam final earlier this year when he took to Centre Court at Wimbledon, although the Aussie didnât get that maiden crown he so desperately wanted, he entertained us all in typical Kyrgios fashion.
He was defeated by Novak Djokovic in four sets after Kyrgios took the opener to secure another major crown to cement his place as an all-time great of the courts.
It wasnât to be for Kyrgios who had his usual outbursts at supporters, umpires and his team, with one tirade against a spectator going viral at the time.
There was someone on the front row who was shouting out during the match, in support of the Australian, although he wasnât keen on Ania Palusâ support.
When venting his frustrations, Kyrgios ranted about Palus, saying: âThereâs no other bigger occasion and they did it again and it nearly cost me the point. Sheâs drunk out of her mind so kick her out. I know exactly who it is â sheâs the one who looks like sheâs had about 700 drinks.â
Understandably, the meltdown did the rounds on social media given the nature of his comments. They made people laugh and showed how he was an entertainer at heart.
On the other hand, Palus herself wasnât impressed as she was removed from Centre Court, thankfully for her, after proving she wasnât drunk, she was allowed to return to her seat for the remainder of the action.

Now, over a month on, she is taking legal action for defamation against Kyrgios, accusing him of a âreckless and entirely baseless allegationâ against her.
A statement from her Solicitors saw her say: âNot only did this cause considerable harm on the day, resulting in my temporary removal from the arena, but Mr Kyrgios' false allegation was broadcast to and read by millions around the world, causing me and my family very substantial damage and distress.â
Obviously, going to a sporting event and being mocked by one of the athletes ending up with you going viral can obviously be an incredibly stressful experience for someone.
However, Palus went and did interviews in the media following the final, so she brought added attention to herself, making her statement a tad contradictory and therefore potentially damaging her case.
She went on to further claim: âI am not litigious, but after much consideration I have concluded that I have no alternative but to instruct my solicitors to bring defamation proceedings against Mr Kyrgios in order to clear my name.
âThe need to obtain vindication and to prevent repetition of the allegation are the only reasons for taking legal action. Any damages recovered will be donated to charity.
"I hope that Mr Kyrgios will reflect on the harm he has caused me and my family and offer a prompt resolution to this matter. However, if he is unwilling to do this, I am committed to obtaining vindication in the High Court."
