Madden NFL 23 is the latest release in the wildly popular American football franchise.

EA Sports’ latest release has only got 11 critical reviews on Metacritic at the time of writing and has a score of 69 from those reviews.

The game brings with it a bevvy of new features and a suite of new features, along with some truly next-generation graphics.

We reviewed the game at GiveMeSport and gave it a solid 8/10 score, hailing its presentation, its beautiful graphics, the strong gameplay, and the new FieldSense features that change the way your quarterback can control games from deep.

But there is a question that is being asked by a variety of players as they prepare to dive into Madden 23’s online offerings.

Is the game crossplay? Will players on PS5 have the option to square off against those who are playing on Xbox Series X/S and PC?

We’ve got all the information you need below.

Is Madden 23 Crossplay?

No.

Sadly, Madden NFL 23 does not support crossplay and will not have cross-platform multiplayer across the consoles.

This has been confirmed on EA Answers by a community manager.

EA Aljo wrote: “Cross platform is not available for Madden NFL 23.

“If you are on PS5 and have dual entitlement, you can download the Gen 4 version of the game to play with your friend(s) if they are on Gen 4. Same goes for Xbox One X/S if you have dual entitlement too.”

That rules out the possibility of having a PS5 and playing your mate who has a Series X.

Crossplay is coming to FIFA, this year, so there was a hope that Madden NFL 23 would have the same feature but it won’t be coming any time soon.

We may have to wait until Madden NFL 24 for crossplay dreams to become a reality for American football fans.

It may be due to the fact that the PS4 and Xbox One versions are so different from the next-generation versions.

They are essentially legacy versions when compared to the next-gen releases.

We’ll keep you updated if EA Sports makes any changes but it’s unlikely at this point, due to the complexity of adding crossplay into a game.
