Manchester United finally got their season going with a home win over Liverpool. The Red Devils have endured a torrid start to the Premier League campaign, being beaten by Brighton and Brentford in their opening two fixtures.Such a poor start followed on from a promising pre-season under Erik ten Hag and immediately put pressure on United's new manager, but a much improved performance and result against Liverpool should finally kick-start their campaign. It was a desperately needed performance and result, too.Ten Hag has struggled to get his side firing so far this season, but we finally saw a glimpse of what he wants his United project to look like as they decimated Liverpool in front of a rabid Old Trafford crowd.United were completely re-energised thanks to a few changes to the lineup, which better accommodated a more aggressive and front-footed approach. The two who led the march against Liverpool were Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford, who each scored either side of half-time to put Jurgen Klopp's side to bed, despite a late goal from Mohamed Salah prompting faint hope of a comeback from the visitors. They were seriously well-taken goals, too. And a well-taken goal deserves the epic commentary to back it up accordingly.

Thankfully, Peter Drury was on shift that night. And just as Sancho and Rashford delivered for United, Drury has delivered for fans with an incredible effort from the gantry - as usual.

Drury has become a bit of a fan favourite and somewhat of a cultural phenomenon over the last few years for his continuously epic pieces of commentary.

While his extravagant and sometimes overly dramatic style isn't everybody's cup of tea, it's hard to suggest that there's anybody better than him better in the business. To put it lightly, he just gets it.

He showed that with yet more marvellous musings when covering the United vs Liverpool clash on Monday night, producing two fabulous pieces of commentary over each of the Red Devils' goals, which have gone viral on Twitter.

Let's start with the opener, as Sancho sent half of Liverpool's defence to the shops with an exquisite turn, before rolling into the back of the net for 1-0.

Then came the second for United, in vintage, counterattacking fashion. And of course it had to be a Rashford goal, assisted by a returning Anthony Martial, in front of the Stretford End.

He's good that Peter, isn't he? What we'd all do to have him commentating over our day-to-day affairs.

Sure, there's a time and a place for over the top, epic lines of commentary. In a tense derby between United and Liverpool, just three games into the new season, in front of a boisterous Old Trafford crowd, that time and place could not be anymore perfect.

Drury is brilliant at his job and while it is a shame that football fans in the UK can't enjoy his work on a more regular basis be it on Sky or BT Sport, it makes instances like this where we do hear him feel even sweeter.

While United fans can marvel over Drury's tremendous commentary and the huge three points, Liverpool fans will still be licking their wounds.

The Reds have now gone winless in their first three games of the season, having previously drawn to Fulham and Crystal Palace.

Injuries have of course played their part, but three points is an absolute must at home to Bournemouth on Saturday - regardless of who is available for selection.
