Edge was in action this week in the WWE as he took on Damian Priest in a match in front of his home crowd during the Toronto show and it’s safe to say, The Rated R Superstar certainly didn’t leave us disappointed.

We saw a whole host of iconic moments this week, with Triple H continuing to deliver the goods in his new role, stamping his own brand on the organisation.

Monday night saw the likes of Rhea Ripley deliver another iconic performance, influencing from ringside to help Finn Balor, before having to be held back as Beth Phoenix went to protect Edge from the attack planned by The Judgement Day.

The show also had Seth Rollins and Riddle going for each other backstage, allowing their brawl to boil over into the arena, with the pair fighting it out in the middle of the crowd.

Trish Stratus was back in the ring in her hometown, serving a classic dose of Stratusfaction in the ring in her promo against Bayley (who we also got to see shake off the ring rust) and co, with Bianca Belair quick to the Hall of Famer’s defence.

Johnny Gargano returned too, signalling Triple H really taking his era by the scruff of the neck, doing what he wants with who he wants. Theory looked to join his former partner, with Johnny Gargano taking out the Money in the Bank winner.

However, the main moment for the Canadian fans was seeing Edge, their local here, take to the ring to put on a masterclass. He was able to execute the perfect Canadian Destroyer on Damian Priest as he speared his way to victory once again.

Despite the spectacle of his clash with Damian Priest, an unscripted moment entertained in the match, with the referee losing one of his shoes whilst being knocked through the ropes accidentally.

It’s often a thankless task officiating a WWE match, with it no different here Edge being kicked into him, sending him flying and out of action momentarily.

The referee’s foot catches the top rope and he loses his trainer in hilarious fashion. Obviously that won’t have been planned as it would be far too hard to execute, luck has to be involved, but nonetheless, we loved it – I bet he couldn’t do that again, even if he tried!

He returned to the ring after recovering to continue his duties, committing to the cause and just leaving his trainer to lay rogue in the ring.
