Tottenham forward Bryan Gil has resumed talks over a loan move to Valencia, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The 21-year-old arrived in the Premier League from Sevilla 12 months ago, but he spent the second half of last season at the Mestalla after struggling for game-time, with a return to Los che on the cards.

What's the latest news involving Gil?

According to Fabrizio Romano, the forward has already held one round of talks with the La Liga side, with a 'new round' scheduled.

But Antonio Conte has made it clear that if any of his first-team players, besides Sergio Regulion and Harry Winks, who are training alone, leave the club, they will have to be replaced.

Despite failing to start a Premier League game since his move last summer, Gil has been on the bench in each of Spurs' three league fixtures this term.

Therefore, the Evening Standard claim that Tottenham are 'reluctant' to let the Spain Under-21 star leave before they have a replacement lined up.

What did Sheth say about Gil?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "We do know that there were talks with Valencia earlier on in the transfer window and then that went a bit quiet, hence Conte being impressed with Gil and involving him in squads again.

"But just in the last couple of days, those talks have resumed with Valencia and Bryan Gil, so there's a potential that one could happen and then we will see in the last eight days whether Tottenham are satisfied with what they've got in regard to what they've got in that squad, because remember he's an attack-minded player and they've got a lot of those at the club."

Do Tottenham need to replace Gil?

Despite Conte being overly cautious about his squad, Spurs could easily afford to lose Gil and not bring in a replacement.

The £80,000 per-week ace might have been on the bench for the first three games, but that's likely to change once Oliver Skipp and Christian Romero return from injury.

When they are back available, Gil would be in a tough battle to even make the squad, let alone get any time on the pitch.

Therefore, while Tottenham could certainly do with a sixth attacking player in their squad, whether that be out wide or a creator, Gil's future shouldn't influence their decision to bring one in.
