Crystal Palace talisman Wilfried Zaha is set to leave Selhurst Park as a free agent when his contract expires next summer, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

Eagles boss Patrick Vieira has spent more than £30million on improving his squad during the transfer window, but there are still doubts over where Zaha's long-term future lies.

What's the latest news involving Zaha?

Zaha has entered the final 12 months of his Palace contract, which is worth £130,000-per-week, and it has led to clubs looking to pounce.

Transfer insider Dean Jones has revealed that Arsenal are keeping tabs on the 29-year-old's situation, although a switch to Mikel Arteta's side is not in the pipeline at this stage.

According to 90min, Chelsea are also considering making a move for Zaha as head coach Thomas Tuchel is aiming to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the September 1 transfer deadline.

The report suggests the 24-cap Ivory Coast international is keen to compete in the Champions League and, as a result, the west Londoners are doing their homework.

Roma are another interested party, with boss Jose Mourinho and the Serie A giants' hierarchy known to be admirers of Zaha.

What has Ryan Taylor said about Zaha?

Taylor has been made aware, through one of his sources, that Zaha is likely to walk away from Palace as a free agent at the end of the season instead of sealing a move ahead of next Thursday's 11pm deadline.

The journalist understands that the winger has been keen to secure a switch away from Selhurst Park in the past.

Taylor told GIVEMESPORT: "Someone I spoke to believes he will leave on a free transfer next summer.

"He has only got one year left on his contract and he has angled for a move in the past. It has not quite happened with Arsenal or Everton and there's also been interest from foreign clubs like Napoli, Borussia Dortmund and Roma."

Would Zaha's departure come as a blow for Palace?

Zaha is currently Palace's highest-paid player and the hierarchy should do all they can to convince their academy product to commit his long-term future to the club.

The former Manchester United star has enjoyed a hugely productive start to the new season, having found the back of the net three times in as many appearances.

That has taken his goals tally for the Eagles up to 86 and his exit would leave Vieira with a sizeable void to fill.
