Premier League fans will always reserve a special place in their heart for Alexis Sanchez.Across the proud modern history of England's top-flight, few players have arrived from overseas and made an instant impact of such entertaining and thrilling proportions as Sanchez did in 2014.Simply put, his Arsenal spell is the stuff of legend, sparkling and crackling like a firework display as he turned defenders inside-out with a dogged determination and ruthless talent on the ball.

The magnificence of Sanchez

Sanchez had the uncanny effect of simultaneously looking like both a ballet dance putting the ball under his spell and a bulldog willing to run through walls in order to secure the three points.

He might have been playing for a latter-day Arsene Wenger side wading through crises and miserable losses to the big teams, but boy did Sanchez thrive in spite of it all with moments of magic aplenty.

So much so, in fact, that being the subject of arguably Manchester United's worst ever transfer deal has done remarkably little to mar his legacy on English shores.

That's no small achievement, by the way, because to be plastered across hundreds of 'flop' articles and still be remembered for your pure talent and quality is a testament to Sanchez's enduring appeal.

And breathe. Now, so, you get the moral of the story that Sanchez was pretty good in England and it's therefore not surprising that many of the nation's fans like to keep tabs on his career ever since.

Sanchez's post-Premier League career

Sadly, for the most part, they've been disappointed by what they've seen with the fatigue and jadedness that sullied his United spell seemingly bleeding into his subsequent Inter Milan move.

Yes, there were flashes of brilliance and yes, he got his hands on the Serie A trophy, but Sanchez still only rekindled his dizzying Barcelona and Arsenal glory days every now and again.

As such, there were wide-spread nods of agreement when Sanchez waved goodbye to the San Siro this summer, starting afresh by securing a move to Marseille.

And he'd barely set foot in the Stade Vélodrome by the time he experienced the love of fans in France with his unveiling met with a rapturous atmosphere and his home debut proving just as electric.

Sanchez's electric home debut

Having kicked off his career with the Ligue 1 club in the 1-1 draw with Brest last week, the Chilean truly announced himself to the fans with a mouth-watering display against Nantes at the weekend.

In fact, we'd go as far as to say that Sanchez looked like his old self again as he put on a thrill-a-minute performance full to the brim with tricks, flicks and class just in the way his Arsenal spell was.

And courtesy of Marseille's official channels, you can appreciate Sanchez's best bits from his Vélodrome bow in all their glory, so be sure to strap yourselves in for entertainment by watching them down below:

He's just one of those players that you could watch over and over and over again, isn't he?

A truly entertaining player

How many goals did he score? None. How many assists did he provide? None, but don't pretend as though watching those highlights didn't bring a smile to your face.

Sure, tricks and flicks aren't what will ensure that Sanchez makes a success of himself at Marseille, but let's not kid ourselves that those flourishes of glitz and glamour aren't exactly what draws us to certain players.

While you can make a very good living for yourself harvesting elite numbers in professional football by hook or by crook, it's the entertainers of the beautiful game that really endure in the mind.

Sanchez is certainly no Lionel Messi and it'll take a lot more than a masterclass against Nantes to suggest that he's well and truly back, but gosh darn it is he still incredible value to watch and enjoy.
