Jose Enrique has pulled no punches when giving his assessment of Cristiano Ronaldo's behaviour prior to Manchester United defeating Liverpool on Monday.

Much was made of the United star deliberately blanking Jamie Carragher when he went over to greet his former teammates Gary Neville and Roy Keane.

After first walking over to greet Neville on the far side, Ronaldo turned and came face to face with the Liverpool legend, who seemed to awkwardly put his hand out to acknowledge the star, only for Ronaldo to brush past him without a care.

The United man then went onto speak with Keane, his former captain, before re-joining his teammates for the warm-up.

But why did he blank Carragher? The obvious explanation seems to be that he was upset with some of Carragher's comments regarding his performances at United, as well as the effect he had on the team.

Fair enough, if he feels he's been wronged then he has every right to blank Carragher.

Although, it is his job to provide his opinion so you could argue it was a tad harsh.

Jose Enrique, though, he reckons Ronaldo's behaviour was pretty appalling based on his social media activity...

Enrique on Ronaldo

First added to his Instagram story and then shared to his Twitter also, the Spaniard gave a damning assessment of the 'disrespect' Ronaldo showed on the night.

"The disrespect here from Cristiano to Carra isn't right." Enrique said.

"Keane and Gary, they've been killing him on Sky Sports as well so I'm sure it's not because of that.

"But someone that's played football for that long and made so many appearances for Liverpool, at least you can say 'hi' out of respect.

"Another thing why I will never like Cristiano Ronaldo and when football finishes, let's see who he will have around being like this."

Ouch, pretty scathing criticism from Enrique who's certainly not been frightened to share his thoughts on Twitter of late.

His opinion has sparked plenty of responses from fans, we'll review some of the best bits below.
