McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown says that the team would be open to working with Daniel Ricciardo again in the future in some of the other racing series they are in.

The Aussie is set to leave McLaren at the end of this current season, with the team and driver announcing the news earlier on Wednesday ahead of the campaign returning after the summer break at the Belgian Grand Prix.

It brings to an end a two-year association with the team for Ricciardo, then, but Zak Brown did not rule out them potentially working together in future projects.

McLaren have IndyCar and Formula E teams, as well as an Extreme E outfit, and so there are plenty of opportunities for Ricciardo to race under the McLaren badge in the future if he so wishes.

At the moment, though, as Brown himself nods to, it's believed the Aussie wants to remain in F1 for next year.

Quoted by Racer, he said:

“We are Daniel Ricciardo fans, and we do have other racing activities and if that was something that was of interest to Daniel, we would welcome those conversations. We will let him speak for himself, but I believe he is very focused on Formula 1 at the moment.”

A shame for Danny Ric but ultimately the good results never really came for him, bar a win in Italy last year, and it remains to be seen where he ends up for 2023.
