Oleksandr Usyk would be the favourite to beat Tyson Fury, after Usyk's victory over Anthony Joshua.

That's according to AJ's promoter Eddie Hearn, who claims Fury actually doesn't want to fight the Ukrainian as he is simply too good.

Boxing fans are desperate to see Fury, 34, and Usyk, 35, unify the heavyweight division, but both sides must come to an agreement first before they step in the ring and fight each other.

Talks have been going back and forth between the two parties for weeks, with Fury's promoter Frank Warren suggesting the undisputed clash will be held on December 17 in the Middle East, the day before the World Cup final takes place in Qatar.

But Hearn has warned Fury that he will have a hard time trying to figure out the undefeated Ukrainian.

“I would favour Oleksandr Usyk in that fight,” he said during an appearance on The DAZN Boxing Show.

“I just think he’s so good. They’re both very intelligent fighters. It’s actually not a very good fight to watch but it’s an intriguing fight to watch.

"Tyson Fury doesn’t want to fight Usyk, but he may have to because the money is so big.”

It comes after Fury named his price to fight Usyk during a call with ex-Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “Everyone keeps asking about this fight with this Ukrainian guy. Are you going to come back? Are you going to do this? Are you going to do that?

“I’m retired from boxing and I’m very happy doing that. However, I will come back but it has to be for obscene amounts of money.

“Let’s face it, it’s not Anthony Joshua – which I would’ve done for free in England.

It’s some foreigner who nobody really cares about. To fight this unknown entity and give him an opportunity of legendary status? They have to pay for that.

“I don’t mind chucking a dog a bone, but I don’t want to chuck him the full f****** dogs’ home.

“They have a week. It’s August 24. They have a week to submit their offers.

“I want it in writing with proof of funds. This fight is purely about money. I’m happily retired.

I don’t need money, I’ve got plenty of money. It’s the biggest fight in the world so it needs to be the biggest pay day in the world.

"[Floyd] Mayweather got £400million to fight [Manny] Pacquiao, I want £500m! I know they [Saudi Arabia] have got the money. They’ve offered Tiger Woods $1billion [to join LIV Golf].”
