Tottenham will "100 per cent" look to sign another winger if they lose Bryan Gil, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

The Spain Under-21 star is being linked with a loan move to Valencia and Taylor reckons that despite his lack of game-time under Antonio Conte, he's likely to be replaced.

What's the latest news involving Tottenham?

According to the Guardian, Gil is close to securing a switch to the Mestalla following his spell with the La Liga outfit during the second half of last season.

Gil registered one goal in 17 appearances in all competitions, helping Valencia finish ninth in Spain's top-flight and reach the final of the Copa del Rey.

But the Evening Standard believe that Tottenham are facing a 'conundrum' over Gils' future, with Conte stating after the Wolves game that anyone sold would have to be replaced.

"The squad is this and if someone goes away then another has to come," he said. "This has to be very clear for everybody. Otherwise, we stay with this squad, and we continue our path with these players, this squad.

"But if someone has to go away, along another must come. This is very clear for me, for the club, but we are totally agreed on this aspect."

That might come as a slight surprise considering the 21-year-old has never started a Premier League game and hasn't played a minute of competitive action this season.

What did Taylor say about Tottenham?

When asked whether they could bring in another winger if Gil leaves, he told GIVEMESPORT: "100 per cent, I do think that's the case. I think looking at Spurs' squad, you do question whether they need it.

"One, Gil wasn't playing when he was at the club, two, you've got Richarlison not getting in ahead of [Dejan] [Kulusevski], then you've got Lucas Moura.

"But you know what Conte is like, he wants options, and he doesn't care if he will annoy people by keeping them on the bench, he's showing ambition."

What wingers have Tottenham been linked with?

Tottenham continue to be linked with Wolves ace Adama Traore, who almost signed for them in January and has now entered the final 12 months of his Molineux contract.

Meanwhile, The Sun believes that Spurs are also considering a shock move for Leeds man Daniel James, with the report claiming a potential loan deal with a £20m option to buy.

However, the reliable Alasdair Gold revealed that while Fabio Paratici likes the Wales international, no discussions have been held and a move to north London is therefore unlikely for James.
