Southampton selling Che Adams would be a strange decision, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

The Saints striker's future at St Mary's Stadium in recent weeks and Taylor reckons his recent upturn in form makes links away from the club even more confusing.

Forty-eight hours after Adams was left out of the starting XI and then on the bench by Ralph Hasenhuttl at Tottenham, The Athletic revealed that Southampton were 'willing' to lose him this summer.

But talkSPORT claimed two days later that Saints in fact have 'no plans' on selling the striker, who's been their main source of goals beyond James Ward-Prowse since Danny Ings' departure last year.

Adams returned starting line-up against Leeds later that week and has since enjoyed a purple patch in front of goal by scoring twice against Leicester and Cambridge in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
