Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic is now expected to stay at Stamford Bridge following positive talks, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

The USA international has been one of several Blues attackers linked away from the club this summer, but Phillips reckons that he's likely to remain at the club beyond the deadline.

What's the latest news involving Pulisic?

In what could prove a big year for Pulisic, it's been a frustrating start to the season, with his only outings coming off the bench.

Pulisic is the captain of the US team and will be looking to improve his game-time before playing in his first ever World Cup, which gets underway in less than three months.

But he's behind currently Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz in the pecking order, who have been Thomas Tuchel's preferred front three this season.

As a result, Pulisic has been linked with Newcastle and Manchester United this window in a bid to increase his chances of starting more regularly.

However, with Callum Hudson-Odoi set to join Bayer Leverkusen on loan and Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku already through the Stamford Bridge exit door, Chelsea can hardly afford to lose another attacking player.

And Phillips reckons that after positive discussions talks with the Blues hierarchy earlier this week, the American is unlikely to leave.

What did Phillips say about Pulisic?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Pulisic clearly wants more game-time, his dad has reiterated that with his likes and comments on social media, so that's all his camp want.

"There's no fallout between them and Tuchel and they have held talks this week and it's now likely that he will stay."

What is Pulisic's record at Chelsea?

Despite currently being down the pecking order, Pulisic has enjoyed spells of success at Chelsea and playing under Tuchel in particular.

In his first full season in English football, he registered 11 goals and 10 assists and looked to be worth every penny of the £58m the Blues paid Borussia Dortmund back in 2019.

But Pulisic has struggled for consistent numbers since then, chipping in with just 10 and 13 in each of the last two campaigns, which is just one more combined than his first year, and explains why he's never been a regular name on the team sheet.

With Chelsea offloading attackers on a frequent basis and the likes of Sterling and Havertz out of form, Pulisic only needs a couple of things to go his way and he could be back in the team, however.
