Audi are set to announce their partnership with Sauber in the relatively near future after they confirmed their entry into the sport as engine manufacturers from 2026, whilst Alfa Romeo announced they'd be leaving Sauber at the end of 2023.

During the summer break, plenty of news has emerged about possible car manufacturers taking over Formula 1 teams.

Mainly Porsche and Audi are interested in entering Formula 1, and now Audi have finally confirmed their 2026 entry. The deal was announced on Friday morning in the press conference ahead of Free Practice 1. Audi's Oliver Hoffman and Markus Duesmann are present at the Belgian GP this weekend to confirm their plans.

Red Bull have also reportedly reached an agreement with Porsche, but they have not yet found a date to announce this.

Audi will potentially buy 75% of Sauber, with the full takeover expected in 2026.
