Chelsea have had Wolves star Adama Traore on their radar the entire summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

Thomas Tuchel has been in the market for attacking reinforcements and is an admirer of the Spain international.

What's the latest news involving Traore?

According to 90min, Traore is hoping to leave Wolves before the window closes next Thursday, with the Blues and London rivals Tottenham both 'keeping an eye' on the speedster.

Tuchel has bought in Raheem Sterling, but the likes of Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku have been offloaded, while Callum Hudson-Odoi is expected to move to Bayer Leverkusen on loan, which have reduced his attacking options.

Chelsea are also short at right wing-back, with Reece James their only recognised option in the squad, so Traore could offer versatility to Tuchel.

The Stamford Bridge might face competition for Traore's signature, but the flying winger has entered the final 12 months of his £43,000 per-week contract, which means he could cost as little as £10m.

And Jones reckons that the 26-year-old, who enjoyed a goalscoring return to the Wolves starting XI against Preston in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, has been in Tuchel's thoughts the whole window.

What did Jones say about Traore?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "He's one they've had on their radar the whole summer. Traore needs a decision to be made over his future in the next week and I think that Chelsea still have him on their agenda."

Would Traore start for Chelsea?

With Tuchel currently deploying a 3-4-2-1 formation, natural wingers don't fit into his system, which might make chances hard to come by for Traore.

But his speed and power means he has the ability to convert into a right wing-back, where Antonio Conte wanted to play him when Tottenham were linked in January, which could prove useful at Chelsea.

In recent games, centre midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been tasked with the wing-back role and while he's generally done a decent job, it's not his natural position.

As a result, James, one of Chelsea's main attacking outlets, has been playing in the back-three, which doesn't suit his best attributes, notably his crossing ability.

Therefore, if Traore, who's played 162 games in the top-flight, becomes a Blues player before the transfer window closes, he could find himself battling it out with James and also as an option further forward.
