Manchester United’s new signing Nikita Parris has revealed playing at Anfield is “on the bucket list”.

The 28-year-old Parris made the switch from Arsenal to the Red Devils earlier this month.

She has also played for Lyon, Manchester City and Everton during an illustrious career, but has been a Liverpool supporter since childhood.

In an interview with talkSPORT, Parris claimed she could “compartmentalise who I am playing for and who I support.” But she conceded playing at Anfield “would be a dream”.

“That is definitely on the bucket list and one I’d love to create,” Parris said.

With Liverpool already hosting the Merseyside Derby at Anfield this season, it could well decide to welcome Manchester United to the ground later in their Women’s Super League campaign.

Parris also discussed appearing at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils set to play a WSL match against Aston Villa at the iconic stadium in December.

“Ultimately, we have to get fans through the turnstiles, and get them inside the stadium to create the atmosphere we’ve had through the Euros,” Parris said.

“Nothing can beat the crowd as a 12th man and for the home team it really helps you.

“I think it is getting more games at the big stadiums. We want to make sure fans are having the whole match day experience.

“To go to Old Trafford is an experience in itself. Ultimately, just get fans coming to games. It’s about the product of the football.

“As we’ve seen with the Euros with these great games and great atmospheres, it ultimately brings results.”

Parris was part of the England squad which won Euro 2022, featuring in two matches across the tournament.

Their success has sparked unprecedented interest in women’s football in England, with clubs across the WSL experiencing record ticket sales.

“No, it’s definitely not sunk in yet,” Parris said. “I think we are still riding that wave at the highest point. It was an amazing achievement for us all.

“The summer was one of the best summers I’ve had. Not just one on the pitch, but off it too.

“I think the biggest pinch yourself moment was when we got back into the changing room and the trophy was there and we were just celebrating.

“I remember sitting in my seat and just looking out at the rest of the changing room and the girls were so happy and saying ‘wow, we finally did it’.”
