WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry believes that his former Nation of Domination stablemate The Rock is destined to be a future President of the USA.

The pair both made their debuts in 1996, when Henry, fresh off a successful powerlifting career, signed a ten-year deal with WWE and The Rock made his bow as Rocky Maivia at that year’s Survivor Series.

Both struggled to gain momentum in the early WWE days, but it was when they combined as part of the popular Nation of Domination group that their careers really began to soar. With both eventually going on to become world champions with the company.

Henry also trained with the People’s Champ early in his career and has revealed in a new interview that at that point he didn’t expect Dwayne Johnson to become the megastar that he is.

Speaking to Sportskeeda, the 51-year-old praised the hard work that Rock had put into his career, before predicting that the Great One would one day be the President of the United States.

No, I can’t say I expected him to become who he became, but I knew that he had the work ethic for it. I’ve never seen anybody work harder than him. And what you see now is going to be minor. I’m calling my shot now. Dwayne Johnson will be president of the United States one day.

Henry went on to say that not only is he tipping Johnson for the oval office, but he thinks he could be the president to inspire a real change in the country.

Not only will he be president, but he will be the change in America that everybody needs. And when he starts running for office…I’ve never been involved in politics in my life. When he decides to become a politician, I will do everything I can to support him – Democrat, Republican, Independent, I don’t care. Because I know he’ll do the right thing.

It’s not the first time The Rock has been linked with a future run for office and is the tongue-in-cheek running theme to the 50-year-old’s comedy series Young Rock.

Before any move into politics for the WWE legend, fans will hope to see him back in the ring at WrestleMania next year for the much-rumoured clash between him and current Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
