Tottenham Hotspur star Sergio Reguilon could be nearing a Hotspur Way exit with the likes of Atletico Madrid and Lazio showing interest, according to The Sun journalist Tom Barclay.

Spurs have spent close to £110million on bolstering head coach Antonio Conte's squad during the transfer window, but there may be further incomings and outgoings ahead of the 11pm deadline on September 1.

What's the latest news involving Reguilon?

According to The Sun, Tottenham are in talks with Italian giants Lazio over a loan move which would see Reguilon swap the Premier League for Serie A.

The report suggests Spurs were hoping to offload the six-cap Spain international on a permanent basis, but Lazio are locked in negotiations over a temporary switch which would include a buy option.

Newly-promoted Premier League side Fulham are also exploring the possibility of securing Reguilon's services on loan ahead of the transfer window slamming shut.

It is understood that Nottingham Forest are another club considering a move for the left-back and discussions have taken place between the clubs in recent weeks.

Atletico Madrid have joined the race for Reguilon's signature, with talks reportedly progressing over a loan switch to the La Liga giants.

What has Tom Barclay said about Reguilon?

Although he has doubts over whether Nottingham Forest are in the running to secure Reguilon's services, Barclay understands that the Tottenham star is in-demand heading into the final days of the transfer window.

The journalist is confident that at least three clubs are prepared to do business ahead of Thursday's deadline.

Barclay told GIVEMESPORT: "I'm not sure about Forest, but I know that the club are in talks with Lazio.

"I know there's definite interest from Fulham. I know it's been reported that there have been talks with Fulham as well but, from the Fulham end, I was told yesterday that there wasn't talks yet, but there's definite interest in him.

"Also, I believe that Atletico Madrid are looking at him too."

Should Spurs allow Reguilon to leave on loan?

Tottenham may have parted with as much as £32million to sign Reguilon from Real Madrid two years ago, but it is clear that he does not feature in Conte's plans.

The 25-year-old is currently training on his own, such is the Italian's desire to offload the full-back, so it would make sense to identify an escape route.

Reguilon's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium contract - which is worth £68,000-per-week - still has close to three years to run, but sanctioning a loan departure could be of benefit if a permanent buyer cannot be found.

That is because it is believed that the north Londoners would want the Spaniard's salary to be covered in full by his loan club.
