Erik ten Hag refused to answer questions from a Sky Sports reporter in his press conference on Friday.

The Dutchman was speaking to the media ahead of Manchester United's Premier League clash against Southampton on Saturday afternoon.

He happily took questions from the vast majority of reporters in the room.

But he had no interest in speaking to one inidivual present: Gary Cotterill.

According to the Telegraph, Cotterill was warned before the press conference that he would Ten Hag would not answer his questions without any explanation as to why.

The Sky Sports reporter tried on three ocassions but was blanked every time. Watch a video of Ten Hag blanking Cotterill on one ocassion below...

The two have had multiple run-ins in the past.

Cotterill travelled to the Netherlands last season and attempted on numerous ocassions to get Ten Hag to speak out on his links to the United job.

Ten Hag went on to be announced as United boss and attended their match on the final day of the 2021/22 season against Crystal Palace.

When Ten Hag was making his way to his car after the match, Cotterill followed him and desperately tried to get answers out of him. Ten Hag refused to comment.

Cotterill believes the run-in at Selhurst Park is why Ten Hag regfused to speak to him.

"I'm surprised," Cotterill said. "It was just two people doing their job but I'm assuming he was offended by it. 'The thing at Palace was him doing his job and not commenting and me doing my job and trying to get a comment. I'm only guessing that was the reason.

"I haven't been told. You saw what was said but I don't think it would be too much of a leap to assume it was about that."

The Telegraph have also stated a tweet Cotterill sent after United's crushing 4-0 defeat to Brentford influenced Ten Hag's snub.

Moments after the final whistle, Cotterill tweeted the word: "Karma".

It is understood that Ten Hag wants to see Cotterill next week to explain the situation.
