Deontay Wilder, the former WBC heavyweight champion with a record of 41-2-1 from his 45 professional fights, struggles to gain the respect and support of a lot of British fight fans.

In fact, it's probably safe to say a lot of boxing fans don't give the Bronze Bomber the respect he truly deserves for what he's done for the division, especially given his highlight reel of knockouts and the fact he's only lost twice.

He has only failed to win on three occasions during his professional career and all three of them came against Tyson Fury. As we all know, they drew the first fight before the Gypsy King was victorious in the following two.

Therein lies the problem for a lot of these very capable heavyweight fighters, they aren’t Tyson Fury.

Fury claims to be retired, but the likelihood is he will go back on that decision (again) for a fight against Oleksandr Usyk following the Ukrainian’s defeat of Anthony Joshua.

That then leaves the rest of the heavyweight division to fight for attention and pay-per-views from the captive boxing audience.

Wilder is next back in the ring against Robert Helenius on October 15, a year after his knockout defeat to Fury. The Nordic Nightmare has a 31-3 record from his 34 fights, but should be swept aside by the American as he looks to get his career back on track after those two convincing defeats against Fury.

As fight night looms, both boxers are in the gym honing their skills, and a recent clip emerged from Wilder's camp, which can be seen above, has once again got fans talking.

However, they aren't talking about the American's explosive power, oh no, they are once again talking about the size of his legs. Or, for a more accurate statement, the lack of size.

Wilder was keen to show his punching power as he worked on the pads in preparation for that comeback fight against Helenius.

The upper body looked good and Wilder’s power has never really been in question. What got fight fans talking in the video, however, were his impossibly thin legs. For a man standing 6”7 and weighing nearly 17 stone, they looked like toothpicks.

"I think my wrist and forearms are bigger than his ankles and calves," one fan commented, whilst another said: "Can’t get over how skinny his legs are, how is that even physically possible?"

Others were a bit more to the point, though, with one simply saying: "Those legs are f*****, my finger is thicker."

"Legs look like they are as strong as plywood," and "His legs look like they about to snap lmao" were two other comments in the replies to the above video.

Brutal, brutal fans.

Wilder may have been working hard in the gym, but there is no doubt that he has been skipping leg day.

Wilder may endure some digs from fight fans for those spindly legs, but whereas Joshua has been found to be slow and heavy legged in his defeats to Usyk, Wilder will be considerably more mobile.

Whether those legs can support his big frame if he takes a big shot from Helenius is yet to be seen.
