Sergio Perez edged out Max Verstappen in the final practice session of the weekend at the Belgian Grand Prix, ahead of this afternoon's qualifying.

Perez will see this weekend as a prime opportunity to try and get back to winning ways and build some momentum for the rest of the season, with both Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc set to start near the back of the grid for tomorrow's race, thanks to grid penalties due to engine component changes.

Indeed, it's a chance for the likes of Perez, and Carlos Sainz, to try and make it about them this weekend, and Perez goes into qualifying later today in decent shape.

Friday's running for the Mexican had proven a little frustrating with him not able to get near the times of his team-mate and the two Ferraris, but he looks more comfortable now with him beating his team-mate in FP3 by just over a tenth.

The Red Bulls certainly look the pick of the bunch at the moment, too, with Carlos Sainz third-fastest and nearly eight-tenths off of Perez's time, with Leclerc having a similar experience yesterday in FP2 in comparison to Verstappen's quickest lap.

Lando Norris went fourth-quickest for McLaren ahead of Fernando Alonso in the Alpine, whilst George Russell was sixth-fastest in front of Charles Leclerc, who brought out a brief, late red flag after spinning through the gravel trap and tapping the wall.

Thes rest of the top ten saw Sebastian Vettel in P8, with him complaining of a power deficit at the end of the session, Esteban Ocon in ninth, and Pierre Gasly rounded off the top ten.

The serious stuff is about to start, then, as we head to qualifying later this afternoon for the Belgian Grand Prix.
