Trent Alexander-Arnold has scored an absolute worldie as Liverpool maul Bournemouth 5-0 in an emphatic first-half Anfield display.

It's been a nightmare start to the Premier League season for Jurgen Klopp and his team.

Winless in their opening three matches, having taken a total of two points and lying 16th in the table is hardly vintage Liverpool.

And after suffering a disappointing defeat away at Old Trafford on Monday evening, fans were demanding a response.

Fortunately, that's exactly what the Anfield faithful are getting with Liverpool having run riot in the first-half against Bournemouth.

Luis Diaz opened the scoring in the third minute after latching onto a lovely Roberto Firmino cross, and then the floodgates well and truly opened...

Harvey Elliott added a second in the sixth minute of play, scoring his first Premier League goal in epic fashion.

But it was Trent Alexander-Arnold's absolute screamer that really got fans off their feet.

After performing a cheeky one-two with Firmino in the Bournemouth half, the Liverpool-born right-back let loose a vicious strike from 30 yards that sailed right into the top corner.

Firmino added a fourth just three minutes later, latching rather fortuitously onto a crazy Southampton deflection around the penalty area.

Before Virgil van Dijk fired home the fifth to round off a perfect first-half performance from the Reds.

Who knows how bad this could get for Scott Parker's Bournemouth side yet...

It seems Liverpool are keen to right the wrongs of previous weeks and have decided to unleash every last ounce of their frustration on the Cherries.

And with star man Mohamed Salah yet to leave his mark on proceedings, one gets the feeling that there's more to be said in this game yet.

Nevertheless, from a Liverpool perspective, the explosive demolition of Bouremouth is exactly what the doctor ordered to breathe some momentum back into their stuttering campaign.

Spread the word - the Reds are back in business.
