West Ham signing Adnan Januzaj makes perfect sense as a squad player, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

The Hammers have been linked with the ex-Manchester United star throughout the transfer window due to David Moyes' previous with the winger and Talbot is completely on board with him making the switch to the London Stadium.

What's the latest news involving Januzaj?

The next couple of days could prove a potential season-defining for the Hammers, who have endured a poor start to the Premier League campaign, but their fortunes might soon be about to change depending on how they fare from now until Thursday night.

Lyon star Lucas Paqueta is expected to arrive and become Moyes' marquee signing this summer, although the former Everton boss still wants further additions before the 11pm deadline.

One of those could arrive in the shape of Januzaj, with talkSPORT claiming that the forward is in talks over a move to the London Stadium.

Januzaj, who was handed his Red Devils debut by Moyes back in 2013, is a free agent after his £76,000 per-week contract at Real Sociedad expired back in June, meaning West Ham can sign him for nothing.

Moyes has already added Maxwel Cornet to his squad, but Jarrod Bowen remains the Hammers' only genuine option on the right, which is where Januzaj has spent the majority of his career.

What did Talbot say about Januzaj?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "Well, he had him at Manchester United as well, so I imagine Moyes really likes him.

"He's got some technical ability, I don't think he will be starting every week, but as someone to feel the gaps, I don't see why not, especially as Moyes has history with him and clearly likes him."

Would Januzaj be a good signing for West Ham?

Januzaj's attacking output in top-flight football hasn't been great, but he would still be a decent signing on a free transfer, especially considering he's a player that Moyes knows well.

In his nine years in the Premier League and La Liga, the 27-year-old has never scored more than four league goals, which came in the 2013-2014 season when playing under Moyes, while his best return of assists is five.

Regardless, he would bring experience and quality to Moyes' ranks, albeit with some inconsistency in there, but with his squad likely to be tested to the maximum in the months ahead, Januzaj would be a good option off the bench and for the Conference League.
