Wolverhampton Wanderers could sign both Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic and Benfica's Goncalo Ramos in the final days of the transfer window, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

The highly-rated pair have been linked with a move to Molineux throughout the summer, and Kalajdzic now looks close to making the switch following successful negotiations between the two clubs.

What is the latest news involving Kalajdzic?

Fabrizio Romano previously revealed that Wolves were ‘prepared to bid again’ for Kalajdzic after their initial approach of €15 million (£12.8m) was turned down by Stuttgart.

The transfer guru stated that the Bundesliga outfit are ‘prepared to sell’ the 6 foot 7 marksman but were asking for between €20m (£17m) and €25m (£21m) to offload him.

It was also claimed that personal terms won’t be an issue for Kalajdzic and Wolves, and it now seems as though Stuttgart have compromised over their asking price for their prized asset.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth has disclosed that the Midlands club have 'agreed a deal' worth €18m (£15.3m) for the Austria international, who is set to have a medical imminently.

Kalajdzic may not be the only addition upfront for Wolves this summer, though, as Ramos has supposedly been on their radar since the beginning of July.

What has Talbot said about Kalajdzic?

Talbot believes that Wolves are ‘prioritising bolster their options upfront in what remains of the transfer window after scoring just two goals in their opening four top-flight fixtures.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “So, I'd imagine it would be one of Kalajdzic and Ramos, but obviously, saying that, they're very different players.

"Kalajdzic will cost about €20 million (£17m), and I think Ramos would be about €30 million (£25.6m), so maybe they can both come in. But it seems to be that the striking department is the priority.”

Would Kalajdzic be a good signing?

Kalajdzic enjoyed a very productive 2020/21, registering 17 goals and six assists in 36 appearances, but a serious shoulder injury stunted his development last season.

The towering striker was limited to just 15 Bundesliga outings last time out, yet he still racked up a very respectable eight goal contributions, helping his side to narrowly avoid relegation.

Meanwhile, Wolves mustered just 38 strikes in their 38 Premier League games, with only the three relegated teams finding the back of the net on fewer occasions.

Kalajdzic could be the ideal candidate to transform Wolves’ fortunes in front of goal, therefore, helping them take the next step in their development under Bruno Lage.
