Chelsea target Wilfried Zaha would love to make the switch to Stamford Bridge, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Blues are being linked with the Crystal Palace star, with Thomas Tuchel still in the market for attacking reinforcements before Thursday's deadline.

What's the latest news involving Zaha?

According to the Independent, Chelsea have 'revived' their interest in Zaha, who's entered the final 12 months of his Eagles contract and could therefore be available for just £30m.

The report claims that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is Chelsea's priority, with Tuchel desperate to bring in a striker, but he could turn to Zaha, who's played up front more than 60 times in his career, as an alternative.

Chelsea are long-term admirers of the flying winger having tried to sign him when Frank Lampard was manager back in 2020 and could push to make a late move ahead of the deadline.

Arsenal, who came close to signing Zaha back in 2019, have also been credited with an interest, but Jones reckons that Chelsea have gained encouragement from the their lack of movement.

What did Jones say about Zaha?

He told GIVEMESPORT: "So, Chelsea might take encouragement from the fact that they would pretty much have a free run at Zaha here.

"Zaha would love to join and there's certainly people within the Chelsea setup that think that having [Raheem] Sterling and Zaha in the same attack will be really promising for the rest of the season. So, it's something to look out for."

Could Zaha join Chelsea?

As Jones mentioned, there's no doubt Zaha would be attracted to the possibility of playing in the Champions League and under a manager of Tuchel's calibre, while also not having to relocate.

But with his Palace contract expiring next summer, he knows there's every chance that a big move could come around once again at the end of the season, providing he continues performing well.

Furthermore, it's surely unlikely that Palace would even consider letting their talisman leave this close to the window closing unless they've got a serious replacement lined up.

With that in mind, it feels like it's going to take something special for Zaha to end up a Chelsea player in the coming days.
