West Ham: Moyes 'really likes' 29-goal star at London Stadium

West Ham United boss David Moyes applauding

West Ham United manager David Moyes ‘obviously really likes’ former Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj, according to journalist Jacque Talbot.

The 27-year-old is currently a free agent after being released by Real Sociedad following the expiration of his contract and has been tipped to reunite with Moyes at the London Stadium.

What is the latest news involving Januzaj?

A recent report from talkSPORT revealed that West Ham are ‘in talks’ with Januzaj’s representatives over a potential switch after their successful pursuit of Lucas Paqueta.

Moyes has already made several signings this summer, bringing in the likes of Nayef Aguerd, Gianluca Scamacca and Flynn Downes to bolster his first-team squad.

However, with the Europa Conference League about to get underway, West Ham may still need further reinforcements to cope with what is going to be an extremely congested fixture list.

The capital club already have Jarrod Bowen occupying the right flank, but the England international has no natural back-up for when he needs a rest or if he picks up an injury or suspension.

Therefore, Januzaj could provide Moyes with some additional strength in depth on the flanks, a luxury he has not always had during his time at the club.

What has Talbot said about Januzaj?

Talbot believes that although Januzaj probably wouldn’t be ‘starting every week’, he has got ‘some technical ability’ and could be a good squad player for West Ham to call upon.

In an interview with GiveMeSport, he said: “He obviously really likes him. It’s a bit of a left-field one, but why not?

“Januzaj, I think he’s got some technical ability, and I don’t think he’d be starting every week, but to fill the gaps and to come on and shake a leg, then yeah, I don’t see why not. Especially if Moyes has got history with him and clearly likes him.”

Would Januzaj be a good signing?

Januzaj scored four goals and provided a further four assists in 27 Premier League appearances back in 2013/14 after Moyes handed him his senior debut for the Red Devils.

What nickname is given to West Ham United?

However, in the subsequent years, the 15-cap Belgium international has only been able to elevate those tallies to 29 strikes and 33 assists in 271 club outings.

Moyes, who also managed the creative talent at Sunderland, may see Januzaj as a risk worth taking, though, given he is available on a free transfer.
