Roman Reigns' days as Undisputed WWE Universal Champion could be numbered.Roman Reigns has been Undisputed WWE Universal Champion since April 2022, when he beat Brock Lesnar to reclaim the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 38.However, Reigns walked into the show as Universal Champion, and still holds the belt to this day, having won it at Payback in August 2020.We are fast approaching two years of Reigns as Universal Champion, but reports state that his time holding gold in WWE may be approaching an end.WrestleVotes is reporting that, for the first time in quite some time, pitches have been made to have Roman close his Undisputed WWE Universal title, as you can see below.

The report suggests that pitches have been made to have Roman drop either one or both of his titles in Cardiff this weekend at Clash at the Castle.

While Roman faces Drew McIntyre at the show, the report doesn't note who could win the belts, with fans in the comments suggesting Theory and Karrion Kross could also be in with a shout.

The report explains that the ideas have "intrigued" those in the decision-making process within WWE, so it seems like a title shift really could be on the cards.

Many fans expected Roman to hold onto the belts until at least WrestleMania 39, where he is set to face The Rock, but that doesn't seem to be set in stone.

Of course, it's always possible that WWE has Roman retain his titles at Clash at the Castle and walk out of Cardiff still as the champion, but at least we know that the company is open to other ideas.

Reports have indicated that the USA Network wants a top champion on Monday Night Raw, so perhaps now that Reigns is part-time, Triple H is going to crown a new WWE Champion to replace 'The Tribal Chief'.

The news would be one of the most interesting booking decisions that WWE has made for some time, with Reigns being in every single main event feud since his return in August 2020.

The door will be opened up for several newer stars to reassert themselves back into the picture that Reigns has dominated for over two years now.
