Sadio Mane is living his best life at Bayern Munich. You only had to look at the Senegal star climbing into the stands to celebrate scoring and winning on his Bundesliga debut with the fans to see that he was made to play for the Bavarian giants.Mane clearly has a taste for clubs with passionate supporters based in cities that live and breathe sport because the 30-year-old looks just as at home in Munich as he did with Liverpool.

Mane's strong start with Bayern

And that's been reflected in his performances on the pitch as the former Reds winger boasts four goals from his first five outings with the German champions.

Having opened his account with a debut goal in the DFL-Supercup, Mane has effortlessly adapted to the Bundesliga by finding the net three times in his first four matches in the competition.

And that's no mean feat when you consider that Mane has also had the misfortune of watching no less than five(!!!) goals of his chalked off by the scourge of VAR.

Marry that to the fact that Julian Nagelsmann's men are sat joint-top in the Bundesliga table and are even the most fancied side in the Champions League this season and you really get the feeling that it's hitherto sunshine and rainbows for Mane in Bavaria.

Oktoberfest 2022

Plus, it is - of course - fast approaching a world famous time of celebration for the German state as Oktoberfest takes place between September 17 and October 3 this year.

The beer-chugging, bench-dancing festival attracts visitors from around the world and Bayern are always sure to get amongst the festivities by whipping on the lederhosens themselves.

And that was no different this year as the Daily Mail reports how Bayern posed for their traditional Oktoberfest photoshoot by way of raising a pint of one of the city's most famous beers: Paulaner.

Everyone from Serge Gnabry to Thomas Muller and Marcel Sabitzer to Matthijs de Ligt can be seen lifting a glass of the very refreshment that many revellers will be consuming over the coming weeks.

Mane refuses to hold beer

However, as the report explains, Mane opted against holding a beer for the photograph due to his religious beliefs.

The winger has been widely praised for staying true to his faith by either placing his hands on his lap or striking a pose instead of raising the Paulaner.

Mane is a practicing Muslim and duly abstains from consuming alcohol.

Fan reaction

This isn't the first time that Mane has shown his religious beliefs in regards to alcohol within a footballing setting as he politely asked Takumi Minamino to put a bottle of champagne down when they were celebrating Liverpool's Carabao Cup triumph together in February.

And Mane wasn't the only Bayern player who didn't have a glass of beer in his hand as fellow summer signing Noussair Mazraoui, also a practising Muslim, similarly opted to decline the beverage.

Both players have made a positive impact at the Allianz Arena this summer and it's been great to see the Bayern faithful take them in so quickly as one of their own.

The beauty of football is in its inclusivity and diversity whether that be in regards to race, religion, sexual orientation or gender and it's great to see Mane and Mazraoui feeling comfortable staying true to their own beliefs within their work place.
