Richarlison has come under heavy fire in recent days for his antics against Nottingham Forest over the weekend.

The Brazilian, who signed for Spurs in a £60 million switch from Everton this summer, started the game on the bench but was subbed on by Antonio Conte in the 73rd minute.

Spurs were winning 1-0 at the time and Richarlison was no doubt tasked with putting the game beyond the determined home side - and in the 81st minute, he did exactly that.

After Ryan Sessegnon seemed to waste a prime opportunity with a wayward piece of play, Richarlison kept the ball in and delivered a sumptuous cross to Harry Kane with the outside of his right-boot.

Unsurprisingly, the Englishman did what he does best and duly converted the opportunity, but the goal was all about Richarlison's genius.

Spurs were 2-0 up and the game had been put to bed thanks to the Brazilian's impressive impact, what happened next, though, overshadowed the positivity he'd shown on the pitch just minutes prior.

WATCH: Richarlison showboating

When the ball came to Richarlison in the 84th minute, the forward started juggling with the ball as if to mock the disgruntled Forest players.

Brennan Johnson duly did what every Forest player and fan wanted to do when he absolutely clattered the Spurs man just moments later for his antics.

Reaction to the incident

Speaking after the game, Jamie Carragher said: "He just winds people up that lad. He winds me up. What do you expect Johnson to do? You're not condoning that but..."

That's seemingly a view former Liverpool and Bayern Munich midfielder, Dietmar Hamann, shares also...

"Nothing to do with showboating. Should have been booked for unsportsmanlike conduct and restarted with free kick to Forest," tweeted the German.

Although it seems like Richarlison, in typically mischievous fashion, couldn't care less about his opinion and simply fired back "Cry more" - just to stir the pot that little bit more.

It seems Richarlison won't let anyone - least of all Liverpool related personnel - speak negatively about him in the public domain without getting a spikey response.

Spurs are back in action on Wednesday evening, when they travel to the London Stadium to take on West Ham in the fifth round of Premier League fixtures.
