West Ham United may look to exploit the loan market before the transfer window slams shut later this week, having experienced success there in the past, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

David Moyes has overseen a hectic summer of business at the London Stadium and is running out of time to strengthen further ahead of Thursday’s deadline.

What is the latest news from West Ham?

This week has seen the Hammers break their transfer record with the signing of Lucas Paqueta for £51 million from Lyon.

The Brazilian became Moyes’ eighth signing of the summer window, joining the likes of Gianluca Scamacca, Nayef Aguerd and Maxwel Cornet in east London, and took their total spend to £163 million.

However, they do not appear to be done in the market just yet. According to The Athletic, West Ham have seen a loan offer for Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka rejected.

The report claims that United now plan on keeping the 24-year-old beyond the deadline.

Previously, the Hammers were also understood to be interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher with Moyes eager to add energy to the area of the field.

However, it remains to be seen whether Paqueta’s signing will signal an end to that chase.

What has Sheth said on West Ham’s plans?

Sheth understands that the club will be keeping an eye on potential loan deals to take advantage of before the transfer window closes.

The Sky Sports reporter claims that the success enjoyed with a move for Jesse Lingard in January 2021 is likely to encourage them to try again.

Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “Remember that the loan market, as well, is still something that West Ham United may look into doing some business in. They've had success with it in the past. Jesse Lingard, a couple of seasons ago, came in and made a huge impact. So, I think they'll be keeping their eyes on the loan market as well.”

Who else has been linked with a move?

Reports in Turkey have linked the club with a move for Fenerbache centre-back Attila Szalai ahead of the deadline.

Meanwhile, two big names could still depart. Pablo Fornals is understood to be a target for Barcelona while fan-favourite Craig Dawson may also leave.

According to MailOnline, the 32-year-old wants a transfer, feeling the arrivals of Aguerd and Thilo Kehrer will see his chances limited.

The report states that Aston Villa are among the sides eager to sign him.
