Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel will have the final say on Conor Gallagher's future, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The midfielder has attracted interest from Crystal Palace ahead of the window closing tomorrow, but Romano says the ball is in Tuchel's court.

What is the latest news involving Gallagher?

As per The Times, Palace have already launched a late move for Gallagher, offering their London rivals £27m for his services.

The 22-year-old, of course, spent last season out on loan at Selhurst Park, where he managed to make an impression.

In 34 Premier League appearances, he was able to score eight goals, which is not a bad return for a midfielder.

It is no surprise that Patrick Vieira wants him back at the club. However, a report from the Evening Standard suggests that Palace could be looking at £50m if Chelsea do decide to sell Gallagher before the transfer deadline tomorrow.

What has Romano said about Tuchel, Gallagher and Chelsea?

Romano has told GIVEMESPORT that Tuchel is the one who will decide what happens with Gallagher.

Speaking to GMS, the Italian journalist said: "It's normal for Chelsea to have this kind of situation. From what I'm told, it's Thomas Tuchel who has to decide. And, as of now, there's no green light from Thomas Tuchel for Gallagher."

Will Tuchel allow Gallagher to join Palace?

First of all, there is nothing to suggest that Gallagher himself wants to return to Palace right now. And even if he did, it is hard to imagine Tuchel signing off on it.

Chelsea have a bit of a midfield crisis at present, which the German spoke about following his side's 2-1 loss against Southampton on Tuesday.

"There's no one left in midfield," Tuchel told BT Sport (via Daily Express) after the game following Ruben Loftus-Cheek's injury. "The recommendation for Mateo Kovacic was 20 minutes but he played 45.

"I also don't understand why we are in this situation regarding the injuries but that's the way it is and we need to find solutions."

Gallagher had featured in all of Chelsea's games prior and probably would have played at St Mary's had he not been suspended.

Considering the above, unless the Premier League outfit sign a new midfielder before the market closes, it would be a surprise if Gallagher were allowed to go. And again, the England international has not indicated that he wants to leave Stamford Bridge this summer.
