Liverpool made it two wins on the spin in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
After their epic 9-0 victory over Bournemouth last weekend, the Reds faced a much tougher opponent in Newcastle United - who went into the match unbeaten.
Eddie Howe's men took the lead in the first half at Anfield through club record signing Alexander Isak, who finished tidily after being put through on goal by a marvellous pass from Sean Longstaff.

Isak actually had a second goal ruled out by VAR for a very tight offside call at the start of the second half, which seemed to spark Liverpool into life.
Shortly after that incident, Jurgen Klopp's side levelled the scores at 1-1 through the team's hero against Bournemouth, Roberto Firmino.
The Merseyside outfit then managed to snatch a priceless victory in the eighth minute of stoppage-time courtesy of teenage sensation Fabio Carvalho.
Newcastle failed to properly defend a corner and some dogged work from Mohamed Salah allowed the former Fulham man to volley home in brilliant fashion from close-range.
And in the seconds following the dramatic winner, there was a bit of chaos between the two benches, with some in the Liverpool camp giving it to their counterparts.

Carnage, absolute carnage at Anfield!
Jurgen Klopp cut a frustrated figure throughout most of the match due to Newcastle's time-wasting, but he was actually remarkably calm after watching Carvalho bag him three points.
The Liverpool boss simply stood on the touchline smiling and then after the full-time whistle was blown, he duly performed some of his trademark fist pumps in front of The Kop.

The first big night at Anfield in 2022/23 - and there will probably be many more to come.
Carvalho couldn't have asked for a better first goal in Liverpool colours and per Opta, he is now the youngest player to score a 90th minute winner for the club in the Premier League era.
Not bad, Fabio.
Next up for Liverpool is the Merseyside derby against Everton, before a trip to Napoli in their Champions League opener.
