Arsenal maintained their 100% record in the Premier League this season by beating Aston Villa 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Overall, it was a deserved victory on the night for Mikel Arteta's men and they should have won by a far bigger margin - which is proven by the fact they had a whopping eight shots on target.

In the first half, Arsenal were absolutely electric and finally took the lead on the half hour mark through their new talisman, Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners then had numerous chances to effectively kill the game as a contest, but squandered all of them.

That allowed Villa to unexpectedly get themselves back in the match on 74 minutes, Douglas Luiz scoring directly from a corner kick for the second time in just over a week.

But Arsenal responded to the setback in thrilling style. Three minutes after Luiz's sublime effort, Gabriel Martinelli fired home from close-range to put the hosts back in front.

Arteta's men were able to see out the remainder of the match to make it five wins from five ahead of their trip to Manchester United on Super Sunday.

The atmosphere inside the Emirates throughout the night was quite incredible and outside the stadium after full-time, the wild celebrations continued.

In fact, Arsenal fans have gone viral on social for letting off fireworks in order to pay homage to the victory over Villa.

Richard Keys, look away now...

Well, they're certainly enjoying the positivity surrounding the club right now!

Now in case you've been living under a rock the past few weeks and have no idea why we previously mentioned Keys, here's the reasoning behind it.

After Arsenal's 2-1 comeback win over Fulham last weekend, which was secured by a late goal from Gabriel Magalhaes, the former Sky Sports presenter went on a bit of a rant about 'over celebrating'.

“Steady, it’s Fulham,” Keys said to Andy Gray in the beIN SPORTS studio after the game. “And they trailed at one time.

“Yeah, well played, you came back to win it and they keep their 100 per cent record intact. But they haven’t won the [Premier League] title tonight. They have won a London derby.

“They’re four games into the season. Look at the manager.

“Enjoy it, but I don’t understand this. They’ve beaten Fulham. They’ve won nothing. They’ve over celebrated this.”

If Keys reacted in that manner to Arsenal's on-pitch celebrations following the Fulham win, imagine what he thinks about the fireworks on show in north London on Wednesday evening?!

We dread to think...
