Chelsea are set for a "really busy" deadline day, according to journalist Simon Phillips.

New owner Todd Boehly has spent more than £240m since the transfer window opened, but the Blues are believed to still be in the market for further reinforcements.

According to The Athletic, they're close to an agreement with Barcelona for the services of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, with the Blues offering around £6.5m plus Marcus Alonso going in the opposite direction.

The report claims that the deal is moving towards its conclusion and it's likely that he'll become a Chelsea player before the window slams shut.

Tuchel is also hoping to improve his midfield numbers, although he won't be signing Aston Villa man Douglas Luiz after The Athletic confirmed he'll be staying at Villa Park despite Steven Gerrard raising doubts over his future on Wednesday.

Therefore, Chelsea could turn their attentions to PSV star Ibrahim Sangare.

According to the Daily Mail, they're interested in signing the midfielder, even though he only recently signed a new long-term contract extension in Holland.
