The build up to No Mercy took a much more personal turn on tonight's episode of Smackdown as yet another title match was announced.

We already know that we will see AJ Styles defend the WWE Championship against Dean Ambrose and John Cena while Becky lynch will defend her women's championship against Alexa Bliss.

The end of it all?

With Heath Slater and Rhyno set to defend their tag team titles against the Usos, the only championship yet to be decided was the Intercontinental title.

When Smackdown came to Cleveland, Ohio tonight, champion The Miz announced a homecoming celebration in his native land.

The Miz recently has showed a turn towards more realism and tonight he would elevate that idea to a brand new level.

First addressing his own parents, then the parents of his rival Dolph Ziggler - a move which would draw the show off to the ring.

Ziggler came out to defend his parents but ended up getting a harsh truth told to him about the state of his career from the Miz.

This led to an impassioned speech from Ziggler about his love for performing in front of the WWE Universe and would then lead him to make an interesting challenge.

Ziggler asked for one more chance at the Intercontinental Championship and as an extra incentive for Miz, Ziggler has offered to put his career on the line.

Offering to bring to an end his 12 year stint in the WWE, Ziggler is risking it all at No Mercy for one last chance at the Intercontinental Championship.

Needless to say, the Miz was more than happy to oblige and accept his challenge.
