Andy Ruiz Jr is now only days away from making his return to the ring.

The Mexican superstar, who is most famous for unexpectedly ending Anthony Joshua's reign as heavyweight champion of the world, will come to blows with Luis Ortiz in Los Angeles.

Since that epic night at the world-famous Madison Square Garden, Ruiz's career has been a series of ups and downs.

He was easily overcome by Joshua in their Saudi Arabia rematch after coming into the fight out of shape and out of form.

However, it seems he finally has his career back on track with recent training footage showing the Mexican looking sharp and ready for the LA showdown.

Unfortunately, rumours recently emerged that Ruiz has gone off his diet and could go into the fight lacking in fitness.

Ruiz seems to have put those rumours well and truly to bed though with his recent social media activity, posting a short clip that appears to show him looking in tip-top shape.

The behind the scenes footage, filmed at a promo day for the upcoming fight shows Ruiz roaring into a camera.

Ahead of the fight, the Mexican was in a confident mood while chatting with DAZN.

“I feel great. It means so much for me to be fighting in Los Angeles in front of all of my fans and supporters and I’m just ready to go,” said Ruiz at the fight’s final media workout.

“Everyone here today and everyone who supports me are my motivation to keep going.

“If this ends in a knockout it ends in a knockout. My only goal is to be victorious. I’m in shape to go 12 hard rounds. We’re going to go in there and leave it all in the ring.

“I’m proof that anything is possible if you work hard and stay disciplined. The main thing right now is just accomplishing our goal Sunday night and leave the ring with my hand raised.”Â
