How did Man Utd beat Arsenal 3-1?

Man Utd won the game thanks to goals from debutant Antony and a brace from Marcus Rashford.

United took the lead in the 35th minute through Antony, the £86 million signing who joined the Red Devils from Ajax on transfer deadline day.

Old Trafford erupted as the lively Brazilian tucked Rashford’s pass into the bottom corner past Aaron Ramsdale.

Cristiano Ronaldo, named among the substitutes for a fourth consecutive game by Erik ten Hag, stood and applauded his new teammate from the bench.

Arsenal started the second half strongly, prompting Ten Hag to send on Ronaldo in place of Antony, who received a standing ovation from the home supporters.

However, the Gunners were back on level terms moments after Ronaldo’s introduction thanks to Bukayo Saka, who found the net from close range.

Arsenal continued to pile on the pressure but United re-took the lead shortly afterwards through Rashford, who produced a composed finish in front of the Stretford End after latching on to Bruno Fernandes’ exquisite pass.

Rashford went on to net his second of the game, and United’s third, on a perfect afternoon for the Old Trafford faithful.
