Tyson Fury has called out Anthony Joshua before he sets his sights on Oleksandr Usyk for an undisputed heavyweight division clash, although that would now hinge on him being victorious in his next fight.

After the umpteenth U-turn on retirement, Fury was set for an undisputed clash with Usyk in December in Saudi Arabia.

However, the Ukrainian heavyweight champion wants to recover and will not be fighting in December, meaning Fury now needs another fight if he wants to return to the ring this year.

Initially, he said if AJ beat Usyk, the undisputed clash would have to be free to view and in the UK, although he is now demanding a vast amount of money for his Usyk match.

At WWE’s Clash at the Castle, Fury admitted that he would be announcing his new opponent next week after Usyk has opted for a fight in 2023.

So, it’s no surprise to see him set sights on AJ, his biggest rival in British boxing at the moment despite the string of losses he has suffered recently.

The Gypsy King says he will put his Lineal title on the line along with his WBC titles. It shows his confidence with him using this to warm up for Usyk when you consider a loss means it wouldn’t be an undisputed clash in the heavyweight division.

He was that confident he would beat the winner of the Usyk vs Joshua rematch that he vacated his Ring Magazine belt to add to that fight as he would regain it to be a three-time Ring Magazine champion.

Fury released a video on Twitter, saying: “Hey, Tyson Fury here, AKA The Gypsy King and the WBC heavyweight champion of the world, as you can tell. I think you’ve all heard that I’m going to be fighting soon in the next few months.

“I think that before I announce an opponent that I need to do this, just in case. Anthony Joshua, I know you’ve just lost a fight to Usyk and you’re beltless at the moment and I’d like to give you an opportunity to fight me for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world and the Lineal championship, in the next few months.

“You’re coming off a 12 round fight so you’re match fit, you’re ready, I’m giving you a few months’ notice. If you’re interested I’ll send you the date over and we can rumble. A battle of Britain for the WBC heavyweight championship of the world.

“Let me know if you’re interested, if not I will select another opponent, thank you very much and good night, boom.”

Tyson Fury really isn’t messing about after ‘coming out of retirement’ is he?!
